K&N High-Flow Air Filter Review

If you been to Discount Auto Parts store, you probably seen the K&N High Flow Air Filter laying on a counter advertising its performance. To test the product, I ordered it over there and picked it up next day. Read full review...

Price of this product was $45 when regular paper air filter goes for about $15. Now I will compare them.

K&N High-Flow Air Filter Review

Performance
It was very easy to see that K&N air filter's was a lot better than regular filter. Don't expect your car to fly after installing that filter though.

Environment
K&N actually can help keep the environment clean. Over 100 million paper air filters are disposed every year. K&N will work on your car all the time; you'll only need to dispose it when your car will have to be disposed.

Changing/Cleaning
Paper air filters are not cleanable and are to be changed every 10,000 miles. Looking at K&N High Flow Air Filters, you don't need to change it, but clean every 50,000 miles. Cleaning kit cost about $10, but you probably will need to use it not more than 3 times.

Fuel Economy
There is not big difference in fuel economy. With paper air filter I had 280 miles on 10 gallon tank and with K&N High Flow Air filter I had 295 miles on 10 gallon tank. But don't pay attention to the fuel economy because 15 miles is not a big difference, it is possible that mileage is actually the same.

Warranty
You not getting any warranty on regular paper air filters. K&N gives you lifetime warranty.

Conclusion
K&N beats regular filters in performance, cleaning, environment, and fuel economy points. Now speaking about price, if you going to use regular paper air filter on your car for 150,000 miles, you going to spend $225 on the filters. If you going to use K&N High Flow Air filter on your car, you going to spend $75 on the filter and 3 cleaning kits.

This product is must buy for all drivers. K&N High Flow Air filter gets Best PC Reviews Editor's Choice Award!
