Replacement muffler on Poulan lawnmower
Today I’ll explain how to replacing a muffler on Poulan lawnmower. If your riding lawnmower working louder than usual, it may be time to replace the muffler. It might seem like a difficult task, but in reality, it will take only hour or even less.
Tools you will need is torx p40 and wrench tool set. I also used skew driver tool set, which I highly recommend for many projects.
When ordering muffler, look at amazon, ebay, and possible other sources. You can try to look for one in a local parts store, but prices may be much higher. I would also recommend buying gasket since you’ll be replacing the muffler. If you are unable to find a gasket or don’t want to spend couple more bucks, existing gasket might to the trick.
First thing you need to do is remove front grille from the lawn mower. Just make sure to close your hood when you’re removing those to screws to make the work easier.
After that is one, you will see that the muffler is secured my 3 bolts. One of them is on the front of the lawnmower and another 2 are on the side. To remove the front one, open the hood and reach for the bolt.
Once that is done, it is time to remove last two bolts. For those, you’ll have to use torx bits size 40.
Now make sure you use a new gasket. Do everything in reverse order and you’re done. Let me know if you have any questions.
