Rainbow Six Siege Gameplay Overview
Well, if you've been watching E3 for 2014, you probably saw a gameplay trailer of this game. So far we don't know many details at all, but here is what I have noticed. So far we have seen only multiplayer gameplay, so we pretty much have no idea on single player, missions, objectives, etc.
That's what I have noticed from watching the trailer.
It appears that in the beginning of the game, each team has some time to prepare. You can see that SWAT uses drone to go inside and look for suspects’ whereabouts and hostage location. In beginning of the game, suspects appear to put up blocks and blockades to make it hard for entry team to clear the area.
I enjoyed the detail quality of light coming from the helicopter. Interaction between team players seems pretty cool with great audio quality. I hope there will be a way to mute unwanted audio from some nerds, noobs, and trolls.
It also appears SWAT will have ability to choose their entry point. At this time it's unknown who decides the entry point or if there are leaders in the squads.
By listening to the radio communication, it appears there is a leader though.
Breaching looks great with high details, but it appears there are no effects as slow mode or anything similar. We are also not sure of effects of the breaching on the suspect. It is unknown if he'll have slow movement, low visibility, or any other disadvantages.
Gun shots sound as realistic as it could get. SWAT members will be able to choose shields to protect them from bullets, at least from some.
It appears that pretty much every wall can be knocked down with number of bullets. It is unknown at this time if falling of some walls can damage the players.
It appears suspects have the ability to choose shield as well.
SWAT will work with sniper. Is that one of the online players or just an extra default help for SWAT team? We are unsure at this time. We can hear the sniper talking on the radio though, so we think that one of the players for SWAT can choose to be a sniper.
It appears Siege players will heal themselves automatically in a fixed period of time. It is nothing like SWAT 4, where once shot, injured until the player dies.
Interesting fact is when players go downstairs, one player asks everybody to listen, will there be that great sound quality that players will be able to spot others simply by listening? We'll see.
It's also unknown if the hostages will need to be handcuffed. It appears they're not, but simply need to be held by one person.
Walls can be breached too, just like windows. Ceilings can be breached too (from above).
Sniper can be killed as well. It is unknown how exactly, but it appears the suspects can go outside and somehow find and neutralize the sniper.
I liked additional sound effect of smoke detector alarm. It creates extra nice and cool feature.
It appears exits can be blocked by the suspects. How exactly, especially if SWAT can use breach devices, is unknown.
When SWAT or Suspect holds a hostage, he can use only secondary weapon.
Hostage can be injured and SWAT can heal her. Is it possible that SWAT members can heal each other? Yes, in the beginning of the shootout I noticed SWAT member “healing” another member.
It appears that SWAT has to take the hostage to an exit point. Most likely suspects need to have the hostage either until time runs, all SWAT members eliminated, or simply prevent SWAT taking hostage out of the area in the given time.
Well, that's all I noticed in the video. If you noticed any more details, feel free to share them here in the comments section.
Release date right now is sometime in 2015. Keep in mind that Rainbow Six is known for canceling games before, so I can't say for sure that this gave will even be released, especially with such late release date, but I have my hopes up.
See the video below. I will keep you guys updated with any new information I get.
