The cooler was tested on our main computer, which is
AMD Phenom 9950 Black Edition Quad Core and ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe AM2+ Motherboard
We used TX-3, thermal compound that comes in the package with the Tower 120 Extreme cooler.
For some reason, the compound seemed to be kind of dry, but after installing the heatsink, cpu worked great.




The Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme CPU Cooler looks really nice. It is in black shiny color and inside the heatsink there is 120mm fan with blue led. The cooler comes with fan controller that can be installed in the back of your case, you can set the speed of the heatsink fan from 1000 RPM to 2000 RPM. Here are the test results:





The main reason why I decided to put this heatsink in my computer was because my stock AMD cooler was pretty loud because AMD Phenom 9950 Black Edition Quad Core produces a lot of heat and it takes a lot of effort for small stock cooler to handle the heat. Big heatsink with fan is what I needed to greatly reduce noise in my desktop system.



Installation was a little bit complicated for my motherboard because I needed to take off AM2 default heatsink brackets. Fortunately the heatsink has perfect height for my desktop, leaving only couple millimeters between the heatsink and 240mm fan on the side cover of my pc.



Overall, to be honest, I was surprised that this heatsink will give such a high performance and yet be so quiet. Although installation did take some time and I did lost one of the screws for my motherboard, it was totally worth it. Now I can keep my computer on at night without bothering anybody.
