SunBeamTech SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter

Today I have a really nice and unique product from SunBeamTech, the SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter. This product lets you connect your internal hard drive, whether its 5 years old or you just brought it, to your computer through USB. This adapter lets you work with 3 type of hard drives. You can use the newest type of hard drive, which is 2.5”/3.5” SATA. You can also use IDE hard drives in 2 sizes, the 3.5” and the 2.5”.

This product is a great tool for people that need it. For example, if you are regular user that doesn’t know much about computer, you don’t really need it. But if you are dealing with hard drives or testing hard drives, this product will be your best tool for testing. Personally, if I would not have one, I would definitely buy it. So once again, if you deal with hard drives, you will NEED this tool, very useful, unique, and fun.

Does the light flash only when data is flowing on the SATA/IDE adapter. I can here the audable indication that windows gives when it sees the device. I have tried 2 3.5 HD's and windows does not see either of them

Douglas L Hadland,
If you talking about LOAD led, yes, its flashing only when the hard drive is loading.

I am looking for something exactly like this. But I need to use it with a 1 TB SATA drive, and probably with 500 GB IDE drives.
Unfortunately, your review tells me practically nothing about the capabilties of this device, so I don't know the maximum disk size it supports for each disk type.
Does it allow you to connect a SATA and IDE drive simultaneously? This is what I need.
How about two IDE drives?
Does it detect all drive brands and models, or at least a good cross section of them? Given that Douglas is obviously having trouble, this would seem to be worth investigating in a review. I need it to work with older Western Digital drives, as well as new ones, and Samsung, Hitachi, . . .
What do I do if a drive isn't detected? What are the minimum requirements for the drive to be detected?
What IDE modes does it support? SATA I and II? 1.5 Gbps and 3 Gbps?
