Apple Watch best model to choose
Apple Watch is set to be released on April 24, 2015. Preorders can be made on April 10, 2015. To me personally, I think it is obvious which model to pick, if it is even wise to pick one. As most of you know, the cheapest model is Apple Watch Sport, which starts at $350 for 38mm and $400 for 42mm model. Next one is Apple Watch, which starts at $550 for 38mm and $600 for 42mm. The next one is Apple Watch Edition, which goes for $10,000.
As you can see, price difference is is huge when it comes to models of the watch.
My opinion would be is most people will go with Apple Watch Sport for a basic reason, the price. There are only slight differences between all of the models.
Material used is the only difference, everything else is the same. Let's look at the materials.
Apple Watch Sport comes with Strengthened Ion-X glass screen and Watch and Watch Edition come with Sapphire Crystal screen. It is unknown at this time how strong the screens are, but we know for a fact that Sapphire Crystal screen will be more durable and more resistant to scratch. Nevertheless, in Apple Watch Sport model, we expect a screen quality to be better than on the iPhones. Besides, I am sure there will be screen protectors available for the product.
Now let's look at another difference, the watch case is made from different materials. Watch Sport is made of aluminum, which is still good quality material, unlike plastic. Watch is made of stainless steel. Watch Edition is made of 18-karat gold. Obviously best one would be gold, but just look at the price difference. If I am getting a watch, I will be going for Watch Sport.
Here is a really cool thing. All bands are interchangeable (for 38mm models and separate for 42mm). It means that you can get Sport Watch with durable fluoroelastomer band and eventually replace the band with something nicer. I am pretty sure also that eventually there will be aftermarket bands for much better price.
Now, on April 10, you can make an appointment and stop by Apple Store to try Watch on. As I mentioned before, there is $50 price difference between 38mm and 42mm models. I'd say go to the store and see what size will be right for you. Price value of $50 is not a deal breaker for me.
If you will go with Watch Sport, you will save at least $200 by purchasing the cheapest and smartest (in my opinion) alternative.
What do you think? Do you think there is a better option to go with a different model? What are you going to buy? Leave us a comment. Let me know what you think.
