MiniTool Mobile Recovery for iOS Review
With all the news around iPhone and FBI on data encryption, I got a chance to review a software from MiniTool, which allows you to recover deleted data from an iPhone and other iOS devices. Does it work? My iPhone was not damaged and it was working fine. To see if the software works, I just deleted several photos and videos, then I deleted some of them from the deleted folder.
To get the program to work, make sure you have iTunes installed on your computer. You also have to "Trust" your computer from your iOS device's screen.
The longest part of the recovery starts when MiniTool scans your device. It took me about 30 minutes.
Once that is done, you will see on the left all types of data, some of which is on the device working as it should and some of which deleted.
I like the fact that you can get all your photos and data from whatsapp, viber, skype, and other apps to your computer with a click of a button.
I looked at pictures and videos, but could not find any that I deleted from the device completely. The pictures that I was able to recover were in the "Deleted" folder. So it appears that if you delete media files from "Deleted" folder, they are gone for good.
Messages, Contacts, and other data that does not take a lot of space can be recovered. My deleted text messages, contacts, bookmarks, and notes were successfully recovered.
I am not sure if there are any software that can recovered items that were completed deleted. If you lost a really important text message, I think MiniTool Mobile Recovery will help you, but if you are missing media files, I think they are gone for good.
Mobile Recovery for iOS goes for $60. You can get one for free, but I am not sure of the limitations of the free version.
Right now Minitool has really good Christmas special, check it out
