AMD released their quad core processor. Is it better than Intel’s latest Core 2 Quad processors? Read full review. Right now, AMD offers quad core processors for best price. You can get the AMD Phenom 9500 for only $200 at Newegg. AMD actually is the first manufacturer that offers a true quad core processor. Intel’s core 2 quad has two dual-core chips together when AMD Phenom includes four cores that share at least one level of cache per each core. Unfortunately, right now AMD Phenom processors doing worse on all tests than the Intel core 2 Quad Q6600. Even though Phenom is the cheapest quad core cpu on the market, it’s performance falling far behind from the Intel’s Core 2 Quad Q6600.
In my opinion, if you are fan of AMD processors, I recommend you to wait for Phenom 9700 (2.4Ghz) or Phenom 9900 (2.6Ghz). To my AMD friends, I would recommend to greatly reduce the price of Quad core processors like they did to AMD 64 X2. That made their dual core processors the best on the market.
